This tour will show the FLORA and FAUNA of Cuba explained by specialists from key institutions dedicated to conservation of environment.
This tour will allow you to learn about the FLORA and FAUNA in Cuba visiting key institutions like the Botanic Gardens, National Zoo and Almendares Park (so called green lungs of the city) all located in Havana. EXPOCUBA, main National Fair, will be paid.
After breakfast at the hotel, departure time at 08:30am to the National Botanical Gardens located 25 kilometers from the City of Havana. This installation occupies an area of 600 hectares and was inaugurated in 1984.You can find samples of the tropical flora of the Americas, Australia, Oceania, Africa and Cuba.
After arriving to the Gardens you can visit the installation’s scale model with a specialized guide that will accompany you throughout the tour. Visit the Exhibition Halls where you can find samples of desert plants, tropical humid forests, multiple cactus species, begonias, ferns, bromeliads and orchids among other plants.
Transfer to the region where you will begin your walking tour in an area with an extension of between 1200 and 2200 meters, attending to the group’s characteristics, through the different Cuban vegetable formations: costal region, dry woodland, rock formations vegetation, pine grove, flatlands and will end at the so called cuabales (vegetation over snaky rocks). You will continue the tour to the Japanese Gardens. Enjoy an incredible natural fruit juice at the El Bambú Vegetarian Restaurant. Continue the tour up to the entrance of the Gardens.
Walk form the Garden to EXPOCUBA Exhibition Fair where different pabellions will show the achievements in Cuba’s science and technology fields. (Optional lunch at the Don Cuba Restaurant or any other of your choice).
After lunch, leave to the National Zoo where you will enjoy a specialized visit by the institution’s guide and later the tour will conclude at the Almendares Park.
Return to the hotel between 18:00 and 19:00.
