Educational trip Colours of Cuba, Gettting deep into the roots of this wonderful caribbean island.
It is a Travel program designed to allow international Visitors to get a first hand view of the Cuban reality, to learn about the authentical Cuba and meeting the Cuban people, learning about the essence of the Cuban culture, its traditions and nationality.
It is intended to promote legitimate and real interactions with Cubans from all walk of life, promoting understanding and communications with the world. It will help, modestly but consistently, to improve the economic conditions of the local people and the civil society key in the Cuba´s future.
Itinerary
Day 1 HAVANA
Arrival to International Airport José Martí in Havana.
Meet and Greeting at the Airport.
Private TRF to the Hotel in Havana.
Accommodation at Parkview Hotel 3*** (plus) in Old Havana or similar, in B & B.
FREE EVENING.
Day 2 Havana
08:30 Breakfast.
09:30 Full Walking Tour of Old Havana, entrances to Capitanes Generales Museum, visit the Capitol building, all the squares, monuments, historical building, statues, all the interest point of Old Havana.
Knowing about the local housing project in Old Havana, visiting a health care center which help the families leaving in Old Havana.
Visit the art studio of one of the best contemporary painter artist like the one of Zaida del Río.
Around 13:00 enjoy the Zanco Dance Group performance on the streets of Old Havana, a dancing company made of non-professional dancers and musicians leaving in the area.
►Optional luncheon (try Cuban sandwiches prepare for private local cafeteria).
15:00 Visit Modern Havana, particularly the Vedado area, the Revolution Square, the Colon Cemetery, the Presidente and Paseo avenues, the mansions, the University of Havana, the Rampa (where the Cubans meet and talk, particularly the youth), 23 street, the Malecon (seaside board).
Back to the hotel by 19:30.
20:00 Welcoming dinner at a Family restaurant in the Old Havana area (include it).
Day 3 Havana
08:30 Breakfast.
Today you will get information about the presence of afro-cuban religion in present Cuba, very deep inside into the roots of Cuban culture and nationality.
09:30 am Visit the association of Yoruba in Old Havana, get an explanation about the afro religion in Cuba.
Visiting (by walking) the hidden places of Santeria religion in Central and Old Havana (special Santero Guide).
12:00 Visiting the Guanabacoa and Regla two of the town where the afrocuban religious is most practiced, visit the Santeria Museum.
In Guanabacoa learn about history of the town, one of the oldest of Havana, their participation in the defense of the Villa San Cristobal de la Habana during the days of the British invasion in the XVIII century; after that visit the Cojimar town, a fisherman town, which also played a role in the defense of the villa during that event, and became relevant in the history because of the live of the american writter in Cuba Ernest Hemingway. (the Novel Old Man and the Sea´s story written by Hemingway and the film based on that novel took place in Cojímar town).

Day 4 Havana - Viñales Valley
07:30 Breakfast Box.
08:00 TRF to Viazul Bus Terminal to take public bus to the Valley of Viñales.
10:00 Tour to Viñales Valley and the surrounding: visiting the Cultural House.
Walking through the valley (Palmarito trail) meeting campesinos growers of Habano tobacco leaf.
►Optional Luncheon at a private family restaurant in the Valley.
Accommodation at Hotel Los Jazmines, Hotel La Ermita or Hotel Rancho San Vicente 3*** in B & B (if the client prefers lodge could be made at Homestay in B & B).
Day 5 Viñales Valley - Las Terrazas - Soroa - Havana
08:00 Breakfast.
08:30 Leaving by car to Las Terrazas community to get in touch with the community project existing there (probably up to now the best example of a sustainable agricultural and community project in the island.
Visiting "Casa de la Guajira" for a Cuban coffee campesino style.
►Optional Luncheon at the local restaurant.
Continuation on the trip to Soroa, entrance to one of the most interesting botanical garden in Cuba, also visiting a local artist.
17:00 Leaving for Havana.
Accommodation at Hotel Parkview 3*** (plus) in B & B or at Hotel Paseo Habana 3*** (plus) in B & B or similar
Day 6 Havana - Trinidad
07:00 Box Breakfast.
07:15 am Transfer to Viazul Bus Terminal.
08:15 Viazul Bus to Trinidad.
13:15 TRF to the Hotel Las Cuevas 3***, accommodation in B & B (also there is the option to lodge in private houses in B & B).
Walking Tour of Trinidad, visiting the Handcraft Local industry.
At evening OPTIONAL, enjoy the local music with the local people.
Day 7 Trinidad
08:00 Trip to Topes de Collantes in the Sierra del Escambray, second highest in Cuba.
Do the Codina Trail, meeting the campesinos, creole luncheon include it.
15:00 Back to Trinidad.
FREE TIME.
Accommodation at Las Cuevas Hotel 3*** in B & B (or lodging at Casas Particulares).
Day 8 Trinidad - Havana
After breakfast, TRF to Bus Terminal Viazul to take bus to Havana.
TRF to the Hotel Parkview in Old Havana or similar, accommodation in B & B.
Day 9 Departure
08:00 Breakfast.
TRF OUT on time to take flight back home.
