The program includes meeting with Yorubá and other Afro Cuban religious authorities in Havana, Santiago de Cuba, Trinidad/Sancti Spiritus, Matanzas and Cardenas. Visit the most important centers and museums that treasure the culture and main samples of these religions, its presence and roots in the island's cultural and religious traditions; visit to the Carnival Museum of Santiago; visit Havana Cathedral; San Lazaro Sanctuary in the Rincon and the Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre or Lady of Charity in Santiago de Cuba. Also visiting the societies that presides these religious tendencies in the city of Matanzas; meeting with the Muñequitos de Matanzas group (Rumba and Guaguancó).

National Shrine of St. Lazarus church dedicated to St. Lazarus is in the town of Rincón, in the municipality Boyeros, in the present province of Havana. One of the most popular manifestations of religious fervor in Cuba, is the annual pilgrimage to the National Shrine of St. Lazarus on December 17, to the San Lazaro miraculous Cuban, or Babalu Aye arrive devotees from all provinces of Cuba and abroad. In January 1998, Pope John Paul II, visited the revered temple, where he chatted with religious and believers who were there.

Mantanzas Bay

Its known for its poets, culture, and Afro-Cuban folklore. Matanzas is called the City of Bridges, for the seventeen bridges that cross the three rivers that traverse the city (Rio Yumurí, San Juan, and Canimar). For this reason, it was referred to as the "Venice of Cuba." It was also called "La Atenas de Cuba" ("The Athens of Cuba") for its poets. Matanzas is known as the birthplace of the music and dance traditions danzón and rumba.
