A educational to people program which allow visitors to interact with the families and cuban people lodging at their guesthouses. Experience how cuban entrepreneurs start to change the cuban life, meet them.

Itinerary

Day 1 HAVANA

19:00 group will be meeting at the lobby of hotel Parkview in old Havana where the informative meeting with the tour guide will take place. The meeting duration will be from 40 minutes to 1 hour.

The program will be explained in details, the accommodation, meetings and visits which will be expected to be held during the visit.

Tour guide will introduce himself as well as will ask the participant to introduce each other, and talk about their expectations.

Some tips and suggestions for the trip will be given to the participants as well as ideas of things to do during the free time. Session of questions and answers will be followed.

After the meeting, group will be asked to join the tour leader for a dinner to keep exchanging views about the program and Cuba.

Restaurant will be a private family restaurant in the area; that will allow the participants to know about this relatively new experience in Cuba, and to help in a concrete way to the locals new entrepreneurs.

Each person takes care of its expenses at the dinner (moderate price between 8 to 12.00 CUCper person, just meal no drinks include in that estimate) (not include it).

Day 2 HAVANA

08:30 Breakfast.

09:30 full walking tour of Old Havana, entrances to Capitanes Generales Museum, visit the Capitol building, all the squares, monuments, historical building, statues, all the interest point of Old Havana.

Knowing about the local housing project in Old Havana, visiting a health care center created to help the people leaving in Old Havana, and one of the private art galleries existing in old Havana.

Enjoy at the mid‐day the Zanco Dance Group, a dancing company made of non‐professional dancers and musicians leaving in Old Havana (neighborhood of the old Havana).

Light luncheon (like sandwiched and juice being produced for private local cafeteria, many of them have recently being established in Havana and in the country), paid by each one (not include it).

By bus or car, from 3 pm to 7 pm, driving through the modern Havana, particularly the Vedado area, the Revolution Square, the Colon Cemetery , the Presidente and Paseo avenues, the mansions, the University of Havana, the Rampa (where the Cubans meet and talk), 23 street, the Malecon (seaside board); then Miramar.

Back to the hotel by 19:30.

20:00 Welcoming dinner at the Bodeguita del Medio, or Patio Restaurant, most famous bohemian restaurant in Havana (include it).

Day 3 HAVANA

Visit the association of Yoruba in Old Havana, get an explanation about the afro religion in Cuba.

Visit to the town of Guanabacoa and Regla where that afrocuban religious are most practiced.

Visit the Santeria Museum.

In Guanabacoa learn about history of the town, one of the oldest of Havana, their participation in the defense of the villa of San Cristobal de la Habana during the days of the British invasion in the XVIII century; after that visit the Cojimar town, a fisherman town, which also played a role in the defense of the villa during that event, and was relevant in the history because of the live of the american writter Ernest Hemingway in Cuba. ( Novel Old Man and the Sea´s story written by Hemingway and the film based on that novel took place in Cojimar town).

14:30 Optional luncheon at Las Terrazas de Cojimar restaurant (not include it)/p>

At evening optional visit to a baseball game (depending of the time of the year if the nationalchampionship is taking place at that time) or visit the Casa de la Cultura de Centro Habana.

DAY 4 Havana – Viñales Valley

07:30 Breakfast Box

08:00 Tour to Viñales Valley and the surrounding.

Visiting the school in Viñales town and the Cultural House. Walking through the valley (Palmarito trail) meeting campesinos growers of Habano tobacco leaf.

Luncheon at a private family restaurant in the Valley (include it).

Accommodation at a casa particular.

Creole dinner at a campesino house, lechon asado with viandas (include it).

DAY 5 Viñales-Las Terrazas-Soroa-Havana

Breakfast at the private house.

09:00 leaving for Las Terrazas to get in touch with the community project existing there (probably up to now the best example and may be the unique example of a sustainable agricultural and community project in the island.

Visiting "Casa de la Guajira" for a Cuban coffee campesino style.

Luncheon at the local restaurant (include it).

Continuation on the trip to Soroa, entrance to one of the most interesting. botanical garden in Cuba, also visiting a local painter.

Accommodation at Las Terrazas de Paseo, located in the Vedado area, accommodation in B & B.

Optional night activities are available (not include it).

DAY 6 DEPARTURE

Breakfast.

Comfortable and safe transportation with driver for all the visits and tours. It could be private transportation or public depending on the case, number of persons in the tours.

Plaza San Francisco de Asis, Havana

Plaza de San Francisco de Asis. It was built parallel to the de Armas, only 100 m away towards the bay of Havana, in a cove, which was filled in 1628 took the name of San Francisco for the establishment of the religious order, which began construction of a humble convent in 1575.

Guanabacoa Museums

Located in the municipality of Guanabacoa, stores an important collection about local history and Afro-Cuban traditions. It consists of two facilities: the Municipal Museum, founded on July 26, 1964 and the Museum of the Martyrs, founded on 19 April 1992.

Capitanes Generales Museum

Museum located in the old Palacio de los Capitanes Generales, opposite the Plaza de Armas. It is the representative city museum. Its more than thirty rooms exhibit valuable collections of plastic, decorative and utilitarian objects that recreate the historical and cultural evolution habanera arts. The main entrance to City Museum overlooking the street Tacon, between Bishop and orelly. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 9.30 p.m. to 5.00 a.m.

Templete

El Templete is a monument in Havana, Cuba, that pays homage to the place where the foundation of the town of San Cristóbal de la Habana was celebrated in 1519. The monument consists of bust of Christopher Columbus and three canvases painted by Jean Baptiste Vermay. It is a Neoclassic building, typical example of colonial architecture. Valle de Viñales

The Viñales Valley in the Sierra de los Organos near the western end of the island of Cuba is an outstanding karst landscape encircled by mountains and dotted with spectacular dome-like limestone outcrops (mogotes) that rise as high as 300 m.
